Tensile Sheer Strength

Tensile sheer strength will depend on the substrate. The table below shows the shear strength of different substrates according to ISO 4587. Cure in 24h at 25oC.

Strength (N/mm2)
ABS 3–4
Polycarbonate 8 – 9
PVC 4-6
Aluminium A5754 5 – 10
Steel 14 – 17
Stainless Steel 12 – 15

Shear strength

Substrate FIXTURE TIME (second) SHEAR STRENGTH (24 h, kg/cm2)
ABS 15-40 30-40
Polycarbonate 20-50 80-90
Aluminium A5754 5-10 50-100
Steel 10-20 140-170

Usage Instructions

  • Ensure that the bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease or oil before applying the adhesive.
  • Apply the adhesive to one of the surfaces. Avoid using items like paper towels or brushes to spread the adhesive.
  • Assemble the parts within seconds. The parts must be accurately positioned as the curing time is short, allowing little opportunity for adjustment.
  • The bonds must be held stationary or clamped until the adhesive sets.
  • Allow the product to reach full strength before subjecting it to any loads (typically 24 to 72 hours after assembly, depending on the bond gap, materials, and surrounding environmental conditions).
