Adhesive for Tailgate, Mudguards & Trunk Lid of Automobiles

30/04/2024

Lightweight bonding has become an integral part of the automotive manufacturing process, yet the challenge lies in combining different substrates with various characteristics (thermal expansion, polarization).

Benefits & Advantages for the Automotive Assembly Industry

Hitta’s adhesive solutions have excellent adhesion to various materials throughout the car exterior, including automobile tailgates, mudguards, external suspension parts such as doors, car hoods, car trim panels, and rear trunk lids. The benefits of adhesive include:

  • Cost reduction – faster processing time: faster workflow stages, occupying less space in the warehouse.
  • Independent hardening capability regardless of environmental conditions.
  • No need for pre-treatment (such as primer).

Hitta’s industrial adhesive is also specially designed to bond various materials: metal, composites, wood, and plastics such as PBTP, ABS, and PC, as well as other mixtures.

2-Component Acrylic Adhesive

2-Component Acrylic Adhesive offers superior adhesion, fast curing, flexibility, and low odor, providing many advantages in terms of process and performance. 2-Component Acrylic Adhesive does not require solvents and is therefore non-toxic to users.

The viscosity of the 2-Component Acrylic Adhesive solution facilitates easy application with high precision, making it suitable for bonding structures and substructures of various substrates used in assembly and decoration processes, including metal, plastic, glass, and oil-coated steel.

Advantages of 2-Component Acrylic Adhesive:

  • Immediate bonding.
  • High impact resistance.
  • Adhesion to various substrates.
  • Easy mixing.
  • Solvent and acid-free.

PUR Adhesive

Hitta’s PUR adhesive provides OEM customers with highly efficient and innovative solutions, including one-component polyurethane adhesive. The advantage of PUR adhesive lies in its ability to bond various substrates and is applied directly in the automotive and bus glass bonding process.

Adhesive Advantages:

  • Low to high cutting modulus.
  • Excellent stress separation resistance under various climatic conditions.
  • Primerless adhesion capability for paint and glass, ceramics on various substrates.

Applications:

  • Direct glass bonding.
  • Bonding various materials: CFRP, aluminum, steel, PC, PP.
  • Automotive trim bonding.

2-Component Polyurethane Adhesive

Two-component polyurethane-based adhesives are used to bond various plastics, metals, and composites, mainly in the assembly process. Adhesives often have one polyol-based component and the other component is an isocyanate-based hardener.

Adhesive Advantages:

  • Wide adhesion range.
  • Faster curing with heat (cycle time can be <2 minutes).
  • Cures at room temperature.
  • Excellent aging resistance and environmental resistance.

Hot Melt Adhesive

Hot melt adhesives typically have chemical structures based on polyurethane, polyolefin (with reactive components), or thermoplastic elastomers.

Hot melt adhesives are ideal for bonding synthetic materials, metals, wood, paper, fabric, foam for both interior and exterior automotive applications. The curing process occurs as the adhesive gradually cools. The curing rate varies depending on the air humidity and environmental temperature, as well as the moisture and permeability of the substrate.

Advantages:

  • Wide adhesion spectrum on polar and non-polar substrates.
  • High ultimate strength and flexibility over a wide temperature range.
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Excellent aging and heat resistance.

Silicone Adhesive 1 & 2 Component

Silicone adhesive 1 & 2 components provide excellent adhesion for glass, metal, coated metal, plastic, and wood, meeting the most stringent material bonding requirements related to automated industrial processes.

Silicone adhesive 1 component begins to cure when it reacts with moisture in the air. Silicone adhesive 2 component starts curing at room temperature immediately after the two components are mixed together, and this process can be accelerated by higher temperatures (up to 50°C).

Applications:

  • Headlights.
  • Fog lights.

Advantages:

  • Excellent UV and weather resistance with a wide temperature range.
  • Superior heat resistance.
  • Wide adhesion spectrum.
  • High stability.
