U-Seal 501 | Very fast curing car body repair one-part polyurethane elastic adhesive and sealant
U-Seal 501 is a fast-curing, one-component polyurethane adhesive and sealant designed for automotive body construction and repair. The product is specifically developed to meet the requirements of the automotive industry. Thanks to its balanced viscosity, it can be easily brushed and manipulated to replicate original marks. Once cured, it achieves a high hardness, providing an appearance similar to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components.
- One-component polyurethane.
- Applicable at cold temperatures.
- Wide adhesion spectrum.
- Simultaneously bonds and seals.
- Very fast skin formation and curing time.
- Can be overpainted, even in a short time, with a variety of water-based and solvent-based paints (preliminary testing recommended).
- Easy to handle, brush, and smooth.
- Capable of withstanding high dynamic loads.
- Permanent flexibility.
- Provides damping and soundproofing properties.
Application
U-Seal 501 is suitable for sealing joints such as weld seams and overlapping panels on all internal car body parts and painted metal surfaces, including the reproduction of original brush marks, simple bonding, as well as vibration reduction and soundproofing in car body repair and construction. Suitable surfaces include metal, metal primers, and painted surfaces (2-component systems), and painted plastics.

Instructions for Use
The surface to be treated must be completely clean, dry, and free of dust or grease. The bonding surface should be prepared according to NPT application guidelines, and a specific cleaner or activator from the NPT product range may be used. Preliminary adhesion tests on the substrate are recommended.
Pierce through the protective seal at the nozzle end. Screw on the plastic nozzle and cut it at an angle to the desired thickness and shape. Place the cartridge into a manual or pneumatic sealant gun (equipped with a retractable piston) and carefully apply the sealant to avoid air entrapment. Once opened, the product should be used within a relatively short time. The optimal operating temperature for both the surface and the sealant is between 15°C and 25°C.
Finishing and smoothing must be done during the tack-free time of the sealant. U-Seal 501 can be overpainted. Paint compatibility should be checked by conducting preliminary tests. Care should be taken when using alcohol or alkyd resins, as they may affect the curing process of the sealant and extend the paint’s drying time. It should be noted that paint film hardness and thickness may impair the sealant’s elasticity and lead to cracking of the paint film.
Do not allow the sealant to cure in the presence of curing silicone sealants. Avoid contact with alcohol and solvent-based cleaners during the curing process. When applying the sealant, avoid air entrapment. As this is a moisture-curing system, adequate exposure to air is required.
Cleaning Instructions
Clean used tools with acetone or solvent. Uncured sealant can be removed with paper or cloth. Once cured, the product can only be removed mechanically. Avoid skin contact by wearing latex, rubber, or polyethylene gloves. If skin contact occurs, remove immediately and wash thoroughly with soap and water.
Storage Instructions
U-Seal 501 can be stored for 12 months in its original (unopened) packaging at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C in a dry, cool place. Storage temperatures should not exceed 25°C for prolonged periods. Avoid storing in humid areas, direct sunlight, or near heat sources.
