Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) is considered a safe alternative to PVC. EVA plastic is an elastic polymer that creates a soft, rubber-like material. The material has good transparency and gloss, is durable enough to withstand low temperatures, crack resistance, waterproof, and is not affected by ultraviolet radiation.
Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam is commonly used in flooring, sports equipment, and design industries. The material is often used to make flip-flops due to its softness unlike traditional foam. EVA is easy to process and is available in various colors and thicknesses
EVA is renowned for being lightweight, easy to mold, odorless, and cheaper than natural rubber. Therefore, EVA is also applied as padding in various sports equipment such as bicycle seats, knee pads, boxing gloves and helmets, martial arts gear, snowboard boots, surfboards, skate shoes, water shoes, fishing rods, and fishing reel handles.
Additionally, EVA has expanded into the photovoltaic industry as a wrapping material for crystalline silicon solar cells in the production of photovoltaic modules.
