Bostik H505 seal’n’bond crystal

Bostik H505 SEAL’N’BOND CRYSTAL is specifically developed as a clear adhesive and sealant for interior and exterior use. Additionally, Bostik H505 can be used for bonding and sealing various common building materials. While it offers high UV resistance, it’s advised to avoid direct UV exposure as prolonged contact may cause the product to change color.

Usage Instructions

Applied as a sealant in situations where the maximum joint depth is expected to be 12.5%. A precise joint size is crucial for absorbing movement between building materials. The joint depth should always be proportional to the joint width. A general rule is a 1:1 ratio between joint depth and width; with a maximum joint width of 10 mm, the minimum width and depth should be 5 mm. For joints wider than 10 mm, the depth equals the width divided by 3 plus 6 mm.

Limitations

• Not suitable for PE, PP, PTFE, flexible plastics, neoprene, and bitumen substrates.
• Not suitable for glass, natural stone, and mirrors.
• Not suitable for continuous water immersion and chloride exposure (e.g., swimming pool water).
• Extended UV radiation exposure may cause discoloration and reduced stability.

Surface Preparation & Finish

Application temperature: +5°C to +40°C (applies to both environment and surface). All substrate surfaces must be firm, clean, free from grease, and dust-free. Bostik H505 SEAL’N’BOND CRYSTAL adheres perfectly without the need for a primer on most non-porous surfaces. Porous surfaces are pre-treated with primer. Always check adhesion before application.

Paintability

Bostik H505 SEAL’N’BOND CRYSTAL can be painted with alkyd paint and dispersion primers. It’s recommended to check compatibility with paint before application. If Bostik H505 is already painted, it’s advised to lightly sand the sealant and adjoining surfaces before using Scotch-Brite. For optimal results, painting should be done a few days after application on the surface.

Cleaning

Tools should be cleaned immediately after use with water. Hand cleaning can be done with water and soap. Once cured, material can only be removed mechanically.

Storage

Store the product in a dry place within a temperature range of +5°C to +25°C, with a shelf life of 15 months from the date of manufacture.
