Bostik P590 – sealant for construction & expansion joints
Bostik P590 s a new generation one-component PU adhesive sealant. With low modulus, high quality, and durability, it cures under the influence of moisture to form a non-foaming elastic adhesive. Advantages include:
- Extremely elastic, with elongation at rest > 1,000%.
- Excellent adhesion on porous substrates without primer.
- No air bubble formation during curing.
- Easy to apply.
- High durability.
- Optimal UV resistance.
- Paintable.
BOSTIK P590 Low modulus, highly elastic polyurethane sealant
Bostik P590 SEAL’N’FLEX ONE PLUS adhesive sealant is developed as a high-quality joint filler for all types of connections and expansion joints on various common construction materials, such as concrete, wood, metal, aluminum frames, and PVC, natural stone, and even granite and slate.
Instructions for use
An accurately sized joint can absorb movements between building materials. The depth of the joint must always be proportional to the width of the joint. A general principle is that the ratio of depth to width of the joint is 1:1 in cases where the width of the joint is up to 10mm, with a minimum width and depth of 5mm. For joints wider than 10mm, the depth is the width divided by 3 plus 6mm.
Usage restrictions
Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, PTFE, soft plastics, synthetic rubber, and bitumen substrates. Not suitable for use with chloride (swimming pools). May undergo slight yellowing when white adhesive comes into contact with ultraviolet rays. Surface preparation & finishing
Construction temperature: +5°C to +40°C (applicable to environment and surface). All substrates must be firm, clean, dry, free of grease, oil, and dirt. Bostik P590 SEAL’N’FLEX ONE PLUS adheres perfectly without the need for primer on most non-porous surfaces. Porous surfaces must be treated with primer. Note: always check adhesion before application.
Storage
Bostik P590 adhesive must be stored in a dry place with a temperature range of +5°C to +25°C, with a shelf life of up to 15 months from the date of manufacture.
Paintability
Bostik P590 SEAL’N’FLEX ONE PLUS can be painted with water-based and most two-component paints. Synthetic paints may dry more slowly. We recommend checking compatibility with paint before application. It is advisable to paint a few days after using the adhesive for the best painting results.
Cleaning
Materials and tools that are not guaranteed can be cleaned with a specialized cleaning solution. Hardened materials can only be removed mechanically.
